Reflection of Life
Mr. Aldine King was born November 9, 1944 in Thomaston, GA to his mother, Martha King, and father, Curtis Risper Sr. He was raised by his grandmother Georgia Mae King. He was baptized at Cedar Grove AME Church of Thomaston and became a member. He graduated from Drake High School. He was the oldest of his four siblings, Ethel Jean Risper White, Bobby Lee Risper, Curtis Risper Jr., and Billy Risper.
He served 2 years in Vietnam, and went on to spend 30+ years working at the Federal International Paper Board.
He married the late Virginia Hampton King and raised three kids together: Kenny Hampton, the Late Sheila Hampton Green, and Seretha “Gail” King Hobbs.
He was an active member of his community, Miller Park, in which he was the treasurer of the Miller Park Reunion Club. He remained an active member even after moving away from the community, to 147 Edna Circle Thomaston, GA his last residency.,
He was a kind, well dressed, and mild mannered man. He rarely got upset but his love for the Atlanta Falcons and Braves contributed to most of his outbursts. He was a connoisseur of Western Films and Soul Music.
Aldine reunites with his wife Virginia Hampton King, His daughter Sheila Hampton Green, His mother Martha King, father Curtis Risper Sr., His grandmother Georgia Mae King, His brother Billy Risper, and Curtis Risper Jr., His daughter-in-law Janice Hampton and grandson Carlos Marshall.
He is survived by his Son: Kenny Hampton of Atlanta, GA, Daughter: Seretha (Charlie) Hobbs of Hampton, GA; Sister Ethel Jean Risper (Maynard) White of Thomaston, GA; Brother: Bobby Lee Risper of Griffin, GA; Aunts: Annie Sue (Archie) Townsend of Atlanta, GA, and Genie Pearl Gastor of Detroit, MI; Uncles: Shedwrich Risper, and Eddie Williams both of Thomaston, GA; Sisters-In-Law: Peggy Risper, Joyce Brazil, Nita Graddick, and Irene Weston all of Thomaston, GA; Son-In-Law: Willie Green of Thomaston, GA; Nine Grandchildren: Quavis Hollis, Antoine Traylor, Brandon Traylor, Zack Hobbs, Bree Green, Tocarro Green, Ashley Traylor, Autumn Hobbs, and Ashton Hampton; Great Grandchild: Summer Jean-Baptiste; a special Friend: Cal Barnes of Thomaston, GA.
