Mr. Billie Quiller, more affectionately known as “2 Speed,” was born on September 14, 1948, to the parents of the late Mrs. Cora Lee Lyons and the late Mr. Calvin Benjamin Quiller in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He was educated in the public school of Upson County and graduated from Drake High School. Billie joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He sang in the choir.
Following high school, Billie enrolled at Upson Technical School. He learned the trade of an auto mechanic. He was taught early to learn a trade and work.
On July 5, 1970, he met and joined in marriage to Ms. Barbara Brazer. To support his family, he began driving for FedEx. He later got a job with Georgia Sand and Stone driving freight. He was a good provider for his wife and children and loved them dearly. In his early years, he was a volunteer fire fighter for the Lincoln Park Fire Department.
During his leisure time, Billie loved riding his motorcycle. He rode it throughout his lifetime as long as he was able to hold it up. He loved race cars and driving his truck. He loved mowing his own lawn. Billie also was a comedian. He possessed a joyful spirit and loved to make others laugh, but most important to him than anything was his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and the ones he helped raise and nurture.
He was preceded in death by his parents. On Friday, April 25, 2025, the Lord called his name. He answered the call, and his spirit was set free.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mrs. Barbara Ann Quiller; his biological children, Neil Gray, Shun Ali Quiller, Conswella Quiller and Marica Quiller. Billie is also survived by the children of his heart, Dexter Brazer and Pasua Lamb, as well as the grandchildren he helped raise: Cierra Quiller, Tianna Quiller, Shanesha Quiller, and Lazarus Quiller; in total, Billie leaves behind 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Louise Quiller Colbert of Roberta, GA and one brother, Mr. Vinson Walker of Cleveland, OH; two sisters-in-law, Mary Brazier and Deborah Holston; three devoted friends, Kenneth “Do Right” White, Johnny “Cole Binder” White and Johnny “Foot” Mathis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will hold his memory close.
