Mr. Calvin Lewis McMullin, more affectionately known as “Chub” and “Big Mac,” was born on February 28, 1959, to the late Mrs. Mervin Slappy McMullin and the late Mr. Tommy Lewis McMullin in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia.
He attended public school in the Thomaston City School System and graduated from R.E. Lee High School. When he reached manhood, he found employment with Thomaston Mills. He also worked at Cooper Standard.
Calvin confessed Christ as his Savior and joined Mary Lizzie Baptist Church. He came in ready to work and joined the Usher Ministry, where he served faithfully. He loved the preached Word, working in the ministry, his church, and his pastor, whom he supported wholeheartedly both at home and when traveling. Calvin had a good spirit, you never caught him in a bad mood, which made him ideal for the usher’s ministry. He greeted everyone with a smile, welcoming them into the house of worship.
During his leisure time, he loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Falcons. He enjoyed dancing, old movies, especially westerns, eating out and at home, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Melissa McMullin. On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the Lord called him home from labor to reward. He answered the call and went home to rest. He will be greatly missed by his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Ms. Tamatha McMullin of Atlanta, GA; a devoted cousin, Ms. Angela Jordan of Thomaston, GA; two uncles, Mr. Charlie McMullin of Atlanta, GA and Deacon Frank Otis Wiggins of Thomaston, GA; two nieces and two nephews, Tamia McMullin, Sierra McMullin, Noah Brown, and Damian McMullin; one great-niece and two great-nephews; two devoted friends, Mr. Undra Pickard and Ms. Shirley Jordan; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
