Mr. Charlie Bryan Banks, Jr. was born on July 6, 1966 in Barnesville, Lamar County, GA. He was the only son of four children born unto Mrs. Elizabeth Barber Banks and the late Mr. Charlie Bryan Banks, Sr. He attended school in the Lamar County School System and was a 1986 graduate of Lamar County Comprehensive High School. While in school, Charlie played football and was a standout on the track team earning the nickname “Horse”. At the tender age of 12, he began working at Ralph Adamson Dairy Farm, where he was employed until 2003. He worked at Gordon State College as a groundskeeper for many years, until his health began to decline.
During his early years, Charlie met Ms. Karla Ogilvie. They were united in holy matrimony on September 25, 1992. Their union included two sons, Patrick and Ivan, and their shared son, Bryan Buckner, all of whom shared many wonderful memories together
Charlie enjoyed life; he loved dancing, grilling, aggravating his sisters, and finding joy in restoring anything of value. He will be remembered for his love of his mother and sisters. He was known for his love of hunting and especially fishing.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Charlie Bryan Banks, Sr. On November 16, 2020, with his family by his side, he entered into the gates of Heaven.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mrs. Karla O. Banks; his loving mother, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Banks both of Barnesville; three sons, Mr. Bryan (Shay) Buckner, Mr. Patrick (Chelcey) Banks, and Mr. Ivan (Tesla) Banks all of Barnesville; a grandson he raised as his own, Master Brayden Banks; eleven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Charlene Howard, Mrs. Patricia B. Ellerby, and Mrs. Angela Durham all of Barnesville, GA; sisters-in-law, Ms. Patti Greenway of Elberton, GA and Mrs. Paula (David) Rose of Barnesville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends and co-workers who will all miss him dearly.
