On Wednesday morning, February 25, 2026, a dear husband, father and brother, Darrell Lamar Murchison, heard and answered the final roll call.
Affectionately known as “Bo or “BoBo,” Darrell was a mild mannered and loving man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved putting on his apron, placing his cap on his head, holding his white cup in hand, always ready to fire up the grill for a barbecue any day he wasn’t working. Hunting and fishing were two of his other favorite things to do with family and friends. His warm spirit and welcoming presence made every gathering special.
Darrell dedicated his entire career to brick masonry. He was employed by G&B Masonry, Inc. As a skilled brick mason, he took great pride in his work and the legacy he built with his hands.
Darrell was born in Reynolds, GA, and was reared by his grandmother, Rosa Murchison in the Beasley Community. At an early age, he joined the Bethel Baptist Church in Roberta, GA. He attended Crawford County Schools and graduated in 1983. He married Tangela Colbert on March 26, 1999. To this union, two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Murchison Ivey, two sisters, Audrey Ivey Smith and Barbara Mae Blasingame, one brother, Calvin Blasingame, and his father, J. C. (Gussie) Blasingame Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife Tangela; his loving children, Darius and Teandra Murchison; his two beloved grandsons, Tymon and Kiyan; a bonus pop, Aubrey (Mary A.) Ivey Sr.; his sisters, Wendy Ivey, Martha (Wendell) Simmons, Patricia Carson, Deborah (Kerry) Thornton, Virginia Blasingame and Lisa Walker; his brothers, Aubrey (Felecia) Ivey Jr., Gregory (Teresa) Blasingame, Stephen (Priscilla) Blasingame and Anthony Kim (LaTonya) Blasingame; sister-in-law, Bridget Colbert; aunts, Dr. Shirlene Carter, Doris Murchison, Julia Chester and Louise Reese of Chicago, IL; uncles, Henry Blasingame, Dr. Morris Blasingame, Murray Blasingame; one great uncle, Arthur (Hazel) Ivey of Detroit, MI; along with several cousins and friends who were like brothers: Phillip Willis, Dorsey Blasingame, Michael Wilder, and Ronald Raines and many more who shared memories under his special tree; one special hunting friend, Joe Campbell; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
