Mr. Deionta Devon Barron was born on June 27, 1990, in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia, to Mrs. Tracey Smith Freeman and Mr. Michael Barron.
He attended public schools in Upson County and graduated from Upson-Lee High School with the Class of 2009. In 2017, he earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) from Southern Crescent Technical College. After driving for several trucking companies, Deionta found his home with Shoreline Trucking Transportation of Montgomery, Alabama. There, he demonstrated a strong work ethic, independence, and unwavering dedication to the company for more than three years.
Outside of his career, Deionta truly enjoyed life. He especially cherished the time he spent with his beloved daughter, Jamie, who was the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one uncle.
On February 15, 2026, the Lord called his name. He answered the call, and his spirit took flight to rest peacefully.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mrs. Tracey Smith (Kelvin) Freeman of Thomaston, Georgia; his father, Mr. Michael (Rena) Barron of Ellenwood, Georgia; his daughter, Jamie Barron of Chesapeake, Virginia; his maternal grandmother, Ms. Katherine Smith of Thomaston, Georgia; his brothers, Mr. Steven Freeman (Jalessa) and Mr. Dominique Freeman, both of Thomaston, Georgia, Mr. Steven George of New Mexico, Mr. Dexter Williams of Ellenwood, Georgia, Mr. Michael Ronderek Barron of Arlington, Virginia, O’Bryan Reeves and Brittyon Reeves of Gwinnett County, Georgia; his sister, Ms. Kimberly Johnson of Thomaston, Georgia; his godparents, Pastor Daniel and Dr. Mary Ann Fagan of Hampton, Georgia.
His aunts and uncles: Ms. Daphne Leonard, Ms. Tonia Barron, Mrs. Vickie Dawson, Mr. Mickey (Eloise) Smith, Mr. Todd (Linda) Warner, Mr. Alex Terrell Barron, Mr. Jantavius Barron, and Mr. Keenan (Tonisha) Barron, all of Thomaston, Georgia.
His great-aunts and great-uncles: Mrs. Doris Cox and Rev. Robert (Patricia) Releford, both of Yatesville, Georgia, Mr. Johnny Lee Releford of Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Betty Lockhart, Mrs. Shirlene Jordan, Mrs. Shelia Snipes, Mrs. Juanita Lockhart and Ms. Doreen Grantling all of Thomaston, Georgia, Mrs. Betty (Willie) Searcy of Butler, Georgia, Ms. Joanne Petty, Ms. Victoria Flemming, Mr. Tony Smith and Mr. Ricky Smith all of Thomaston, Georgia; Mr. Dwayne Smith of Florida and Ms. Odessa Lockhart of Detroit, Michigan.
His nephews, Jeremy and Jakhy Freeman; a cousin who was like a sister, Chiquita Pennyman of Thomaston, Georgia; his close friend, Artangela of Columbus, Georgia; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends who were very dear to him.
