Obituary For Mr. Dentavious R. Pye

Dentavious Raymon Pye, son of the late Dennis and Sylvia Pye, was born on May 13, 1983, in Upson County, Georgia, and peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Wellstar Spalding in Griffin, Georgia.

Dentavious was educated in the Lamar County School System and graduated from Lamar County Comprehensive High School. Shortly after school, he began his career in employment, holding various jobs that included Gordon State College, the City of Barnesville, and the City of Zebulon.

Dentavious’s life was devoted to his family. He was a husband, father, grandson, nephew, cousin, and a loyal friend to many.

Dentavious had a presence that could be felt the moment he entered the room. He was someone who cared deeply for his family and friends, showing his love in both big and small ways. Whether through laughter, conversation, or simply being there when it mattered most, Dentavious left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

At an early age, Dentavious joined East Mount Sinai Baptist Church. His life reflected a commitment to strong values and heartfelt compassion. As a servant, he was always willing to lend a hand.

As a member of the Easy Knights Biker Club, Dentavious had a deep love for motorcycles and racing. Being on his bike gave him a sense of freedom, peace, and joy that truly reflected his adventurous spirit.

Though his time with us was far too short, Dentavious Raymon Pye’s life had meaning, and his legacy will live on through the love he gave and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Those closest to him will remember his loyalty and generosity, and the memories shared with him will be held in the highest regard.

Dentavious is survived by his wife, Shunta Newton; his son, Bryston Newton; his brother, Cassius Jackson; his grandmother, Minnie Lee Fletcher; aunts Rosalind Phillips and Tracy Fletcher of Barnesville, GA, and Charlotte Pye of Ohio; uncles Lewis Fletcher (Talena) of Maryland, Rodney Fletcher (Micah) of Jonesboro, Hollis Pye (Pam) of Ohio, and Prentice (Janice) of Atlanta; a devoted friend, Antonio Stroud of Griffin; along with a large extended family and many friends who loved him dearly.
