Obituary For Mr. Douglas Howard

Mr. Douglas Frank Howard Sr., more affectionately known as “Doug” was born December 21, 1954, to the late Mrs. Martha Pennyman Howard and the late Rev. Albert Howard in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He was educated in the public schools of Upson County. During his early manhood, he joined the Friendship Baptist Church. He loved the preached word of God, and he attended regularly. Doug was the father of three children. To help support his family, he was employed by Martha Mills Textiles. In addition to working at the mill, he enjoyed doing lawn service and brick masonry. He didn’t mind getting his hands dirty.

Doug possessed a kind hear and spirit and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working outdoors. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Albert “Pen” Howard, Jr. On Monday, April 25, 2022, following a lengthy illness, the Lord looked down and saw his son had suffered long enough. He called his name; he answered and went home to eternal rest. Doug leaves to cherish his memory, three children. Mr. Orlando Bernard Howard and Ms. Linda Jean Howard both of Thomaston, GA, and Mr. Douglas Frank (Jacqueline) Howard Jr. of Yatesville, GA; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Gracie Paige, Mrs. Carolyn Green, and Ms. Joyce Howard all of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Betty (Elex) Carter of Jonesboro, GA; two brothers, Mr. Edward (Betty) Howard of Thomaston, GA, and Mr. Richard (Labake) Howard of Killeen, TX; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held Sunday, May 1, 2022 12:00 Noon George E. Trice Jr Memorial Chapel
