Mr. Emory Brazil was born on April 12, 1957, to the late Mrs. Lizzie Searcy Brazil and the late Mr. Clinton Brazil in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. At an early age, he joined the Welcome Grove Baptist Church. Emory was educated in the Upson County School System and graduated from R.E. Lee Institute where he excelled in basketball. He won several awards in school. He furthered his education at Iowa State College and at Flint River Technical School. During his manhood, Emory married Ms. Kathryn Colbert, and two children were born to their union. She preceded him in death. He was the father of three girls and the grandfather of six. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. To provide for his family, he was employed by Thomaston Mills. During his leisure time, Emory loved going to church; helping others in need; watching basketball; working as a mechanic; riding his motorcycle; cooking, especially frying up catfish; eating; and spending time with his friends and family. Emory was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Areatha Brazil (Willie) Williams; and one brother, Frank Brazil of Chicago, IL. On Saturday, December 18, 2021, the Lord called Emory’s name. He answered the call and went home to his eternal resting place. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Emory leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Mrs. Debrecia (Aduayi) Akouete-Akue of Griffin, GA, Mrs. Crendon (Maurice) Corbin of Macon, GA and Ms. Cressli Brazil of Thomaston, GA; six grandchildren, Caeland Calvin, Kanye Smith, C.J. Corbin, Jy Lockett, Ka’Lania Brazil and Auriel Web; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine (Don) Henderson of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Annie Lois (Melvin) Blasingame of Roberta, GA and Mrs. Katherine Yates of Thomaston, GA; three brothers, Mr. Glinton Brazil of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Charles (Rachael) Brazil and Mr. Ervin (Vivian) Brazil both of Thomaston, GA; a devoted friend, Ms. Joyce Seay of Thomaston, GA; two God-sons, Mr. Antonio Corbin and Mr. Terrance Corbin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service were held Thursday, December 21, 2021 1:00 P.M. George E. Trice Memorial Chapel Interment Welcome Grove Cemetery
