Obituary For Mr. Ervin Brazil

Deacon Ervin Brazil was born to the late Mrs. Lizzie Louise Searcy Brazil and the late Mr. Clinton Brazil on November 20, 1959 in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He was raised in a Christian home and at an early age he joined the Welcome Grove Baptist Church.

He was educated in the public schools of Upson County and graduated from R.E. Lee High School with the Class of 1977. In high school, he was a football athlete. He attended Fort Valley State College on a football scholarship for two years.

After returning home, he entered the work force, first at Thomaston Mills and working at McDonald Body Shop in auto repair. He later earned his CDL license and drove an 18 wheeler along with being a substitute teacher and bus driver. Ervin wasn't satisfied until he became a business owner. He was the proud owner of E and J Towing Service. He loved his work and loved helping others.

In 1983, Ervin met Ms. Vivian Tamplin and they fell deeply in love. They were married on January 20, 1984. They took their vows seriously and loved each other with unconditional love. They were blessed with three children. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

Ervin loved working in the church. He served on the Usher Board and the cemetery committee for many years. Seeing his faithfulness to God, the church, his work and attendance, he was later ordained a deacon. He loved serving, taking care of the pastor and other members who needed his help. He was given the nickname “Busy Bee” by the pastor for he was always on the move.

During his leisure time, he loved playing and watching football, loved his old cars, talking and spending time with his family, going on vacations and riding motorcycles. Ervin never met a stranger he couldn't talk to. He loved talking and sharing his life experiences.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Aretha Williams and two brothers, Frank Brazil and Emory Brazil. On Thursday, January 11, 2024, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Vivian Brazil of Thomaston, GA; three children, Ms. Jennifer Brazil and Mr. Ervin Clinton Brazil (Tykia Appleberry) both of Thomaston, GA. and Mrs. Latasha (Conkelius) Brazil of McDonough, GA; two grandchildren, Koron Brazil and Korean “Apples” Darden; three sisters, Mrs. Lois (Melvin) Blasingame of Roberta, GA. Mrs. Josephine (Don) Henderson and Mrs. Kathrine Yates both of Thomaston, GA. two brothers, Mr, Glinton Brazil of Atlanta, GA. and Mr. Charlie (Rachel) Brazil of Thomaston, GA; sister and brother-in-law included, Mrs. Jeanette Lockhart and Mr. Kenneth Lockhart both of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
