Mr. Gregory Barber, more affectionately known as “Greg,” was born on October 22, 1963, in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia, to the late Mrs. Mattie Lou Williams Barber and the late Mr. Robert Lee Barber. At an early age, he joined Bethel Baptist Church.
He was educated in the public schools of Lamar County and graduated from Lamar County Comprehensive High School.
During his early adulthood, Greg was employed by Aldora Mills for over 25 years. He was later employed by Lamar Tire and Auto, where he worked as a tire mechanic for many years. He loved his job and took pride in serving the public.
During his leisure time, Greg enjoyed family gatherings and was often the life of the party. While attending Lamar County Comprehensive High School, he played football and enjoyed the camaraderie of the sport. He also loved grilling, cooking, telling jokes, and bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. Above all, he cherished his family and treasured every moment spent with them.
On Monday, July 6, 2026, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and entered into eternal rest. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Ms. Brenda Dunn of Barnesville, GA; one brother, Mr. Robert Lewis (Natalie) Barber of Thomaston, GA; two aunts, Ms. Ruby Lee Barber and Ms. Charlotte Barber, both of Barnesville, GA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
