Obituary For Mr. Harvey Horace Harden

Mr. Harvey (Horace) Harden was born
on June 13, 1960, in Lamar County, Barnesville, Georgia.
Harvey Passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023.
He was born to the union of the late Mrs. Eva Mae Jordan
Harden and the late Mr. Earlie Harden, Sr. He received his
education at Lamar County High School.
Mr. Harvey united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Bridget Ballard
on April 10, 1987.
Harvey was a one-of-a-kind man. He dominated everything
he touched. He was head chef at two restaurants. Those who
knew him and his cooking knew that he was a beast in the
kitchen, so much so that when he worked for the Sheraton
Hotel in downtown Atlanta, and while Bridget was pregnant

with their first child, they offered to put him up in a room all-
expenses-paid just to keep him in the kitchen and close to the

hospital so he wouldn’t miss the birth of their child. Later,
Harvey decided to leave the kitchen, becoming a supervisor
at The Blue Beacon and a lead tech at Speedco. Harvey was
loved and cherished by everyone he came in contact with.
Whether you were family, friends, a neighbor, or the clerk at
any store, he always left you laughing.
Harvey enjoyed the simple things in life. Family, going fishing,
watching Driving Miss Daisy, wrestling, and Fred Sandford,
or listening to music like Whitney Houston, Al Green, and
Marvin Gaye, taking in every stray cat in the neighborhood,
to sitting on the porch and cracking jokes with everyone.
To know him was to love him.
Harvey lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures,
chatting and laughing with friends and family and spending
time with his loved ones. Harvey was a genuinely loving and
caring person that always made everyone happy and did not
mind sharing the fruits of his labor. He made everyone laugh
and always smiled through his pain. Although Harvey’s
transition saddens our hearts, he left a lifetime of memories.
Harvey Harden was a loving father of seven and grandfather

of thirteen. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: seven
children, Ms. Monica Harden of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Shaniqua
Harden of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Tamara (Gregory) Brown of
Grovetown, GA, Mr. Dontae Banks of Barnesville, GA, Ms.
Katrina Leach, Mrs. Vernell (Quincy) Leon of Atlanta, GA,
and Ms. Kysandra Harden; along with thirteen grandchildren,
Ky’Bria Jackson, Dramarco Jackson Jr., Tamiyah Harden,
Kayden Harden-Wyatt, Imani Harden, Bryson Thrasher,
Greyson Brown, Aniyah Harden, Justice Banks, Madysn
Banks, Donald Harden, Ricky-Edward Harden, and King
Leon.
Harvey was preceded in death by Eva Mae Jordan Harden,
Earlie Harden, Sr., Lizzie Harden, Charles B. Foster, Jimmy
Walker, Morris Harden, Brenda Gail Harden, and Early
Harden, Jr.
Harvey was also a loving brother of eight that he leaves to
cherish his memories: Eugene (Jean) Harden of Griffin, GA,
James (Patricia) Harden of Decatur, GA, Everlou Bloodser
of Barnesville, GA, Lois Harden McCowen of Conley, GA,
Johnny (Annie) Harden of Barnesville, GA, Jesse Harden
of Stafford, TX, Andrew (Debra) Harden of Culloden, GA,
and Mattie Brownlee of Barnesville, GA; and a host of aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
