Mr. Jimmy L. Caslin was born on February 5, 1950, in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia, to the late Mrs. Beatrice Maddox Caslin and the late Mr. Jim James Caslin. Jimmy was the fifth child born among eight siblings.
He was raised in a Christian home and, at an early age, joined Greater Springhill Baptist Church in Milner, Georgia. He was educated in the Lamar County School System and graduated with the Booker High School Class of 1968.
Jimmy was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Carol Ann Eleby Caslin. Their union was blessed with five handsome sons. Jimmy was known as a hardworking man who faithfully provided for his family. Throughout his working career, he was employed by several companies in the surrounding areas, including Rustin, Highland, Dundee, Thomaston Mills, and Southeastern Freight Lines, where he worked as a dock worker until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, four brothers, and one sister. On May 15, 2026, God called His son home to rest with our Heavenly Father.
Those left to cherish Jimmy’s precious memories are his loving wife, Mrs. Carol A. Caslin; five sons, Mr. Jimmy L. (Yoshiko) Caslin, Jr., Mr. Christopher D. (Sheletha) Caslin, Mr. Cecil J. Our prayers are with you all may God give Yall the Strength That's needed 🙏
Dad, I've been struggling to find the right words because our relationship was complicated, and there were spaces between us that never fully healed. Even so, your passing has left a silence that feels larger than I expected.
Life gave us an imperfect story, but it was still our story. I carry memories of you with me — some difficult, some meaningful, all part of the person I became. I wish there had been more time, more understanding, and more chances to say the things that mattered.
What I choose to hold onto now is grace. People are more than their mistakes, more than distance, more than the seasons when connection felt hard. I hope you found peace, and I hope in time I find peace too.
Your life mattered. Your struggles mattered. And despite everything, your presence in this world helped shape mine.
I'm learning that love does not always look perfect or close or easy. Sometimes it simply means refusing to let bitterness have the final word.
Rest peacefully, Dad.
My condolences to the family
