Mr. Larry Neal Edge was born on July 6, 1956, in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia, to the late Mrs. Dorothy Louise Brantley Edge and Mr. Palmer Edge Jr. God, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to call His servant from labor to reward on January 12, 2026, when Larry transitioned peacefully at his home.
Larry received his formal education in the Lamar County Public School System. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized and grounded in the Christian faith. As an adult, he continued his walk with Christ at Grace to Glory Church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Mia McGhee.
Larry was a hardworking man and a true jack of all trades. He willingly used his hands and talents to serve others through painting, cleaning services, landscaping, and various handyman work. He was well known throughout the community for his generosity, dependability, and willingness to help anyone in need. In his younger years, Larry was also an accomplished fighter in the featherweight division, displaying discipline and perseverance.
Above all, Larry loved people. He enjoyed family gatherings, fellowship with friends, and ministering to others. One of his greatest joys was serving the Lord through music, especially by playing the drums in church, where he praised God with gladness and sincerity of heart.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Benjamin Edge.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his sisters, Ms. Juanita Taylor and Ms. Linda G. Edge, both of Griffin; brothers, Mr. B.J. (Linda) Banks of Barnesville, Mr. Bobby Edge of Atlanta, and Mr. Nathaniel Edge (Cedric) of Jonesboro; his beloved God-daughter, Mercedes Allen; aunts, Ms. Mattie Few of Barnesville, Ms. Mary Daniel of Riverdale, Ms. Diane Holt and Ms. Mary Edge both of Barnesville; his devoted caretaker and niece, Mrs. Ronita (Cornelius) Taylor-Brown; dear friends, Ms. Kathy Goodman, Mr. Willie Walker, Mr. Michael Williams, and Ms. Josephine Goggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Though Larry has answered the Master’s call, his works do follow him. His life of service, faith, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
