Obituary For Mr. Marvin Bivins Sr.

Mr. Marvin Bivins, Sr. was born on June 28, 1950, to the late Mrs. Josephine Maine and the late Mr. Cullerton Bivins in Thomaston, GA. He attended public school in the Upson County School System and graduated from Drake High School. After high school, Marvin entered the United States Army. He served two years and was released from active duty in 1979. He later found employment at the Department of Transportation. After retirement from DOT, he worked a few years as a Security Guard at Gordon College. He was the father of four children, a grandfather of fifteen and a great-grandfather. During his leisure time he enjoyed watching basketball, football, and baseball. He enjoyed supporting high school athletics as well. Marvin loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beverly Ann Gilbert, and Barbara Jean Williams. On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Marvin went into a deep sleep and his soul departed from his body. He is survived by four children Marvin(Shawanna) Bivins, Jr. of Macon, GA, Lorenzo Daniel, Alonzo Bivins and Quantavious Bivins all of Thomaston, GA; one brother James (Arlisa) Bivins of Texas; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral Service were held on Tuesday, December 21, 2002 at 1:00 P.M at Welcome Grove Baptist Church. Interment was held in Welcome Grove Cemetery. Interment
