Mr. Matthew Thompson was born on December 29, 1966, to Mrs. Charlene Hobbs Thompson and the late Robert Arthur Thompson, Sr. in Warm Spring, Meriwether County,
Georgia.
Matthew received his early education and training at the Gilmore Center in Thomaston, GA. He enjoyed attending the center and being with the other students.
Matthew had a beautiful spirit and smile. He loved his family, his mother, brothers, aunts and uncles, cousins and he was loved in return. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music, going out to eat, looking at magazines, watching television, especially “Good Times,” and he enjoyed riding. He never went anywhere without his radio.
He was preceded in death by his father, several aunts, uncles and cousins who greeted him home. On Friday, April 25, 2025, the Lord called his name, he answered the call, and the Lord set his spirit free. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Charlene Thompson of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Robert A. (Felicia) Thompson of Griffin, GA and Mr. Bernard (Kimberly) Thompson of Jackson, GA; two cousins who were more like sisters, Beverly Hobbs of Thomaston, GA and Carla Bass of Decatur, GA; aunts and uncles include, Mrs. Burnette (Nate) Glanton of Zebulon, GA, Mrs. Shirley Smith of NJ, Mrs. Gloria Willis of Manchester, GA, Mrs. Janice (Pastor Fred) Blackmon of Concord, GA; two nieces, La’Quana Thompson and Shakeyia Thompson and one nephew, Justin Thompson; a great niece, Kennedi Thompson and a great nephew, Jayden Thomas; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
