Obituary For Mr. Raymond Harris

Mr. Raymond Harris was born on December 20, 1967, to the late Mrs. Mildred Lockhart and the late Mr. Henry Harris in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. At an early age, he joined the Antioch Baptist Church in Butler, Taylor County, Georgia.

He was educated in public school of Upson County and graduated from R.E. Lee Institute. He enlisted in the United States Navy after high school. He was the father of three children and the grandfather of twelve.

Throughout his life, Mr. Harris was employed in various capacities, including service with the Thomaston City Police Department, and most recently with Super Moss. He possessed a passion for physical fitness and the arts, which he expressed through karate. kickboxing, and singing. He also pursued his love of boxing at World Class Boxing in Kings Bay, Georgia, under the guidance of Mr. Steven Bell, whose mentorship greatly advanced his boxing career. Additionally, he trained with the late Mr. Joe White, with whom he shared a deep commitment to discipline and instruction. These pursuits reflected his dedication, determination, and love for life, qualities that will be forever remembered by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hollis Lockart. On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the Lord call his name. He answered the call and his spirit returned home to rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children: Mr. Eldred Jamar King of Thomaston, GA; Mrs. Dayauna Monet (Danny) Stadler of St. Marys, GA; and Mrs. Sylvia (Terry) Grice of St. Marys, GA. He is also survived by his devoted life partner, Ms. Willie Mae Yates and her family; one brother, Mr. Michael Traylor of Thomaston, GA; twelve beloved grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Among those who mourn his passing are Minister Susan (Herman) Harris, Mr. Hilry Lockhart, Mr. George Hamilton, and Mr. James Hammond Jr., all of Thomaston, GA; Mrs. Mary Ward of LaGrange, GA; and Ms. Harriet Lockhart of Butler, GA.

His presence will deeply missed, yet his legacy of strength, love, and perseverance will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
