On Sunday, June 1, 2025, Mr. Walter Lowell Geiger Sr. peacefully entered eternal rest at the age of 82. Born on August 27, 1942, in Barnesville, Georgia, Walter’s life was one defined by love, service, and humility.
On April 21, 1962, Walter was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Mrs. Cloteal Eleby Geiger. Together they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage, building a home centered on faith, respect, and unwavering love. He found peace and happiness in life’s simple joys — fishing, nurturing his yard, and most importantly, cherishing his family.
A faithful servant to the community, Mr. Geiger devoted over three decades of his life to the Lamar County School System. His unwavering commitment and gentle leadership made him a beloved figure among students, colleagues, and families alike. His legacy is one of compassion, hard work, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of education and kindness. After retiring on May 20, 2014, Mr. Geiger remained a steady and loving presence in the lives of those around him. His warm smile, gentle voice, and generous heart touched countless lives and will continue to
inspire all who knew him
