Wayne Gerard Jones was born July 19, 1962 in Barnesville, Georgia to the late James and Florence Walker Jones. Wayne attended Lamar County High School in Barnesville, GA. He was a devoted brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and dear friend to many.
Wayne Gerard Jones departed this life on November 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy uniquely his own. Wayne was a brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend to many who knew him through life's winding journey. Wayne loved rap music, eating, and watching television especially westerns and in the Heat of the Night.
Though his path was not always easy, Wayne faced every chapter with courage and a sharp mind. He had incredible knack for knowing a little about everything-- and whether you wanted to hear it or not, he'd make sure to share it. His bold opinions, laughter, and lively conversations will echo in the memories of those who loved him.
Wayne spent much of his adult life away from family, but even then, he kept his spirit unbroken. In his later years, after being stricken with health issues, Wayne slowed down but never lost his spark. His wisdom, humor, and unfiltered truth left lasting impressions on everyone he encountered.
He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and unapologetic authenticity--- a man who lived life his way and left behind stories worth telling.
Wayne's life reminds us that everyone carries both struggle and light, and in sharing his truth, he gave others permission to live theirs.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Walker Jones and one sister, Martha Howell.
