Mrs. Catherine Johnson was born on June 24, 1940, to the parents of the late Mrs. Annie Laura Fagan and the late Mr. Morris Fagan, Sr in Culloden, Monroe County, GA. She was educated in the Monroe County School System and attended Hubbard High School.
After high school, Catherine moved to New York and became a Keypunch Operator for IBM, which was one of many jobs she performed. She was soon blessed with a beautiful daughter, Etta D. Willis (Carter). She then decided to migrate to Baltimore, MD, where she became a certified Forklift Operator at Bethlehem Stee of Maryland. She was also employed at Chem Meadows Steel, where she was awarded a Certificate of Honor for ten years of service. She was very proud to be a female forklift driver. She would also retire as a steel worker.
Catherine loved to cook and feed people in the community. She became a real fisherperson who had fishing buddies everywhere. She who would sometimes out fish the men. She also enjoyed gardening. Even though she became ill, she continued to give and help anyone she could.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Morris Fagan, Jr. and Blake Fagan; sisters, Annie M. Fagan and Alma Rutherford; and niece, Helen Fagan. On Thursday, February 23, 2023, the Lord determined that her journey had come to an end. She fought a good fight, but she began to lose the battle when the cancer advanced into stage 4. Farewell, my neighbor Cat We were saddened to hear you had passed. Nic and I spent many days meeting and talking in our alleyways in Baltimore. You had such a lovely soul and a beautiful smile. Seeing your face light up when you talked about going fishing. Sharing your garden harvest and other things with us. You were a sister to me. Rest now. The Nic and Randy
