Gloria Woodard Respress, affectionally known as “Dimp”, was born on March 14, 1946, to the parentage of the late James Otis Woodard and the late Nettie Mae Green Woodard. She was educated in the public schools of Upson County Georgia. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized March 14, 1970, and continued to serve Him faithfully until her death on November 4, 2023. She was a loving and respectful mother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Respress, her son John Albert Respress II, brother Willie James Woodard and her sister Peggy Ann Woodard.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Emory (Brenda) Woodard of Jacksonville, FL, Jean (Ray) Walker and Stacy (Brant) Acey both of Thomaston, GA; five grandchildren; Christopher Woodard and Erica Woodard both of Jacksonville, FL, Michael (Kasey) Strickland of Perry, GA, Desmond (Ariel) Woodard of Griffin, GA and Brandon (Nichole) Acey of Cordele, GA; eight great-grandchildren; La'Niyah Woodard of Charlotte, NC, Jace Woodard of Memphis, TN, Kyleigh Woodard and Averi Woodard both of Griffin, GA. Brayden Acey and Nayla Acey both of Cordele, GA, Bowdy Strictland of Perry, GA and Liam Woodard of Suwanee, GA; two sisters; Mae Otis Woodard and Caroline (Tommy) Holt both of Thomaston; two brothers; Willie Lee (Martha) Woodard of Locust Grove, GA. and Ronny Woodard of Hampton, GA; Two sisters-in-law: Patricia Respress and Loretta Woodard both of Thomaston, GA; Three brothers-in-law; Larry Respress, Bobby Respress and Robert Respress, all of Thomaston, GA. Two aunts: Lou Jean Stembridge Simmons and Odette Hollman both of Detroit, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
