The family of Mrs. Marietta Chisolm announces her peaceful passing on January 21, 2026. Mrs. Chisolm was born on October 2, 1947, and will be lovingly remembered for her warm spirit, kind heart, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

Mrs. Marietta Chisolm was born on October 2, 1947, in Cylo, Georgia, to the late
Benjamin Houston and Richard Mae Riley. She peacefully transitioned from this life on
January 21, 1938, leaving her love legacy she so faithfully built throughout her years.
Marietta was an exceptional product of the Effingham County Public School System, where she attended elementary, middle, and high school. She was a proud graduate of Springfield
Central High school, Class of 1965. Following graduation, she moved to New York City, where she worked for Bellsouth Telecommunications, beginning a life marked by independence, determination and strength.
Marietta lived a life tooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family. She was a woman of quite strength and grace, always carrying herself with dignity and compassion. She was always in good spirits, known for her warm laughter and her ability to enjoy life fully. Especially when surrounded by family and friends, She loved to travel and treasured creating memories along the way, embracing every opportunity to experience life with joy.
She was always willing and ready to help others, never hesitating to be there in times of need. Her giving heart and selfless nature left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Cecil Chisolm, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond; her brothers Issac Houston, Benjamin Houston, Edgar Houston, and Milton Lovett’ and her sister, Cassandra Houston.
Mrs. Chisolm leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted children; Carl Jason Chisolm (Priya), Aaron Kenyetta Chisolm, Sr. (Deniece), and Chad Aikeem Chisolm (Cherisse)
She was the proud and loving grandmother of five grandchildren- Anisa, Sanaya, Carrington, Cassidy, and Aaron Jr.- who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Houston (Mae) and Rodney Lovett, her sister-in-law, Carol Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Known for her unwavering love, gentle spirit, and steadfast presence. Mrs. Marietta Chisolm touched the lives of all who knew her. Though she has departed this earthly life, her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on through generations. Her memory will forever, remain in the hearts of her family and friends
