In Loving Memory of Mrs. Nadine Sullivan James Mrs. Nadine Sullivan James, born on April 1, 1936, in Barnesville, Georgia, was the cherished daughter of the late Rev. Ben and Mary Lee Sullivan. As the sixth of ten children, she was predeceased by six of her siblings. Nadine graduated from Barnesville High Industrial School in 1955, marking the beginning of a life full of love, service, and devotion to family and faith. At an early age, Nadine became a member of West Mount Sinai Baptist Church, where she dedicated herself to several ministries, with a special love for singing in the church choir. Her beautiful voice and presence in the choir made her well-known in the community. Nadine was also affectionately known as the "little lady" — always dressed fashionably and often seen wearing high heels. She also drove the school bus, touching the lives of many in her unique way. In 1956, Nadine met and married the love of her life, Mr. Oscar James. Together, they built a loving family and were blessed with three sons. Nadine leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Her devoted husband, Oscar, and their sons Darrel (Savannah, GA), Cyrus (Kathy) of Jacksonville, NC, and Garry (Atlanta) will forever carry the imprint of her nurturing spirit. She is also survived by two beloved grandchildren, LaCourtney (Steve) Maddox (Stevie) of Hawaii, Sacia Harris (Gregory), four great-grandchildren, three sisters: Annette Harriet, Jeanette Steward both of Queens New York, Bennie Ruth Richardson of Barnesville, GA, and a brother in-law, John Vaughn. Additionally, Nadine leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth and generosity. Nadine's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
