Mrs. Rose Alma Hogan Davis was born on March 19, 1943, to the late Mrs. Hester Blalock Hogan and the late Mr. Charlie Hogan in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia.
She was educated in the public school of Monroe County. At an early age, she joined the Brown Chapel Church in Forsyth, GA.
During her womanhood she was united in marriage to Mr. James Davis on September 7, 1960. They shared 47 years together until his passing on March 23, 2007. To help provide for the family, she was employed by Thomaston Mills. She also worked as a CNA. She loved helping others.
During her leisure time, she loved attending church, talking with family and friends, enjoying family gatherings, and watching westerns, The Andy Griffith Show, investigative programs, In the Heat of the Night, Perry Mason, Ironside, and Matlock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons, willie Joe Davis and Billy Napier. On Sunday, August 31, 2025 the Lord called her name. She answered the call and her spirit returned to the Heavenly Father for rest. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Ms. Laverne Napier of Yatesville, GA, Mrs. Juanita (Donald) Raines and Mr. Timothy (Vickie) Davis all of Thomaston, GA; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Moore of Forsyth, GA and Mrs. Sarah Tyus of Jackson, GA; one brother, Mr. Karl (Julia) Hogan of Forsyth, GA; Goddaughter, Ms. Rose Gray of Thomaston, GA; God-son, Mr. Jimmy Releford of Griffin, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Archer and Mr. Edward (Pauline) Davis all of Barnesville, GA and Mrs. Earnestine Davis of Atlanta, GA; close cousins and friends, Mr. Luther (Vet) Middlebrooks, Ms. Jackie Woodard, Ms. Allene Hutcherson, Mrs. Jammie Tolbert, Ms. Georgia Worthy and Ms. Annette Leonard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
