Obituary For Mrs. Shirley Ann Johnson Childs

Mrs. Shirley Ann Johnson Childs was born on October 22, 1943, to the late Mrs. Nettie Weaver Johnson and the Mr. Emmett Johnson in Manchester, Meriwether County, Georgia. She was educated in the public schools of Meriwether and Upson County.

At an early age, she joined the Concord Baptist Church in Woodland, GA. She was a faithful member and sung in the Senior Choir.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mr. Kelvin O'Neal Childs, one sister, Mary Elise Brown and one brother, Mr. James Johnson. On October 6, 2025, our beloved mother was called home to rest.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Mr. Bobby Lamar (Sharon) Childs of Griffin, GA, Ms. Paula Childs, Mr. Kent (Natalie) Childs and Mrs. Lukienna (Terrence) Walker all of Thomaston, GA; seven grandchildren, Chris Childs, Zaria Childs, Brittany Woodard, Christian (Jammar) McCraney, Kiara Childs, Janay Childs and Caiden Crawford; six great-grandchildren, Cayden Childs, Jamarian McCraney, Ke'mareon Baker, Ja'Kayden Smith, Ja'Khy Gray, and A'Rhyon Childs; several nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives and friends.
