Mrs. Susie Mae Chaney passed on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Trice Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Trice Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements. Please keep the Chaney family in prayer. Mrs. Susie Mae Worthy Chaney was born to the late Mrs. Pearline Worthy and the late Mr. Gable Worthy on January 15, 1937, in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She received her education in the public schools of Upson County. At an early age she joined the County Line Baptist Church in Butler, GA. She was a longtime and faithful member. During her early womanhood she was married to Mr. Charlie Chaney. They took their vows seriously and she was a faithful wife and mother to their children until his passing. Susie was employed by Martha Mill Textiles for thirty years. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed taking care of her family, fishing and she was amazing seamstress. Susie was the manager of the gospel group, Heavenly Divine, which consisted of her family members. She was preceded by her husband, Mr. Charlie Chaney, one son, Ronnie Chaney and one brother, Rev, Sanford Worthy. On Sunday, June 26, 2022, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and peacefully went to her eternal home. The sudden departure has saddened the hearts of her family, but her memory will forever live on. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ms. Carrie Chaney, Mrs. Patrina (Billy) Martin, Mrs. Verna (Chris) Biggs, Mr. Marshall Chaney, Mr. Glen Chaney, and Mr. Johnny Worthy all of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Phyllis (Rodney) Ford of Pensacola, FL, and Mr. Sunny Chaney of Atlanta, GA, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Rev. Mary Worthy of Thomaston, GA; brother-in-law, Mr. Willie (Linda) Chaney of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
