Mother Willie Pearl Trice Evans was born on February 20, l931, to the late Mrs. Lourenia Wilcher Trice and the late Mr. Lonnie Trice in Molena, Pike County, Georgia. She received her early education in the Pike County School System.
During her early womanhood, she met and married Willie J. Evans. They moved to Cleveland, OH and there they raised six children. While in Cleveland, she joined the New Light Baptist Church. At New Light, she was a member of the Deaconess Ministry. She was a dedicated Deaconess and constantly on a mission to help somebody. Upon returning to Georgia, she joined the Mount Olive Missionary
Baptist Church. She loved the worship service and hearing the preached word of God.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed going to church, visiting with family, working in her flower garden and spending time with grandchildren. She loved her family gatherings for celebrations and her birthdays.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three children, Howard Evans, Phyllis Evans and Theresa Evans; one sister, Ethelrene Trice Ferguson and one brother, Johnnie Lee Trice. On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home to eternal rest. Her departure has saddened the heart of her family, but her memory will live on.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Mrs. Elaine Evans Watts of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Alvin Lee Evans of Cleveland, OH and Mr. Melvin (Juana) Evans of Stone Mountain, GA; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
She has finished her journey on this land but many will benefit from her Guiding Light.
