Mrs. Jackie Veneice Durham Grant was born on June 25, 1962 to the late Mrs. Addie Lee Johnson Durham and the late Mr. Willie Clarence Durham in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia.
At an early age, she joined the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church and was faithful until her health failed. Jackie was educated in the public schools of Upson County and attended Upson High School. She later earned her GED.
Jackie was the mother of one daughter, Robin, that she loved deeply. She worked several jobs outside the home, but her love was taking care of children. She took care of her nieces, nephews and anyone who needed her help. She nurtured the children as if they were her own.
Jackie met Mr. Donald Grant. On November 9, 2002, they joined in Holy Matrimony. They shared eighteen years together until his passing on November 8, 2020.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, riding and enjoying the country and nature, going shopping, baby sitting, watching Family Feud, braiding hair and spending time and having fun with her family, especially her brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Christine Walker, four brothers, Charlie Durham, Tommy Lee Gilbert, Willie Durham, Jr. and Thomas James Durham. On Friday, August 23, 2024, the Lord summoned her spirit home to rest. Her spirit took flight and returned to the Heavenly Father.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Ms. Robin Durham; two grandchildren, Tykerria Grant and Tynneshia Grant; one great-grandson, Ariez Monterio Grant all of Thomaston, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda (Willie) Wilkins of Concord, GA, and Mrs. Savannah (Marcus) Kendall of Thomaston, GA; a cousin who was more like a sister, Minister Sallie Gray of Jonesboro, GA; three brothers, Mr. Eddie George Durham, Mr. Johnny Durham and Mr. Alva (Erica) Durham all of Thomaston, GA; a nephew who was more like a son, Mr. Steven Dennis of Zebulon, GA; one uncle, Mr. Thomas (Nina) Johnson of East Point, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
