Ms. Cathy Olivia Alexander, more affectionately known as “Long Mama” was born on February 16, 1964, to the late Mrs. Mary Cleveland Alexander and Mr. Ira Tunstall in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She was educated at M.G. Worthy School and attended Upson High School. She joined Friendship Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Culbreath.
She was the mother of two children, Ryan Alexander and Krystal Michelle Alexander. To support her children, she worked for many years at Golden Coral Restaurant and later at Norris Fine Foods.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, watching television, playing cards and spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She preceded in death by her mother, Mary Cleveland Alexander, her father, Ira Tunstall, her aunt, Mrs. Annie Peal Chaney, sisters, Joyce Alexander and Cheryl Ann Reviere, brothers, Wesley Alexander and Willie James Cleveland. On Sunday, December 10, 2023, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and her spirit took flight and returned to her Heavenly father. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Mr. Ryan Alexander and Ms. Krystal Michelle Alexander both of Thomaston, GA; eleven grandchildren also survive; sister and brothers include, Ms. Pollie Alexander, Ms. Robin Alexander, Mrs. Dorothy Durham all of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Mary Trice-Willis of Griffin, GA and Mr. Alfred Cleveland of Atlanta, GA; three loving nephews, Mr. Fred Alexander, Mr. Bryan Alexander and Kentron Alexander all of Thomaston, GA. and one niece, Talisha Reviere-Winston (Brian) of Detroit, MI. Several other nieces, nephews; two special friends, Mr. Avery Carter and Mr. Jessie Garmon both of Thomaston, GA; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends
