Obituary For Ms. Dianne Goodrum Blandenburg

Dianne Goodrum Blandenburg affectionately known as “T-Di” was born on June 4, 1956, to the late A.G. and Myrtice Goodrum. She was the tenth of twelve children born to her parents. From an early age, she found her spiritual home at the Fairfield AME Church, where she laid her foundation. In 2000, she became a cherished member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and remained devoted until she was called home. Dianne was a proud graduate of the Jackson High School Class of 1975 and attended the Butts County School System. After her schooling, she worked at Ready Pac and also served as a substitute teacher for the Butts County School System. Her infectious personality truly touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Dianne had a special way of offering both warmth and tough love, making a lasting impression on many.

Dianne found happiness in doing word searches and attending her grandkids' events. She embraced life's simple joys---cooking and sharing meals, tending to her plants, playing the lottery, and yes, scratching her favorite lottery tickets. Dianne's love for sports was no secret; she enjoyed watching her Falcons and basketball. She had a fun and vibrant side that was often displayed when talking on the phone or during visits to her home. A woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering faith, Dianne devoted her life to caring for others, especially her one and only child and her three grandchildren. Her love for family was fierce and protective, and her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.

Dianne was called to heaven's garden on October 30, 2025. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, A.G. and Myrtice Goodrum; her brothers, Charles Goodrum, A.C. Goodrum, and Eddie James Goodrum; and her sisters, Annie Lou Head and Mildred Sims. Dianne's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her most: her devoted son Yazmen Kenderious blandenburg; her cherished grandchildren, Tristan, Yazlin, and Kacey Blandenburg; her loving siblings: Emma Ruth Smith, Carolyn Mayfield, Patricia Calhoun Cherry Goodrum, Josephine Hardy, Tommy Joe Goodrum (Katherine), and Willie Joe Goodrum (Ida). She leaves behind her beloved niece, turned daughter Annesha Tyson, whom she cherished dearly, and a special nephew, Christopher Goodrum (Ashondria), affectionately known as Peanut. Dianne also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and a dear cousin whom she talked to every morning. Ms. Sallie Jordan.

Though she has left this world, her spirit will live on in our hearts and in the love we share.
