Dorothy Harden, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on September 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Born in Barnesville, Lamar County, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Dorothey Mae Harden, throughout her life, she touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Charlie Jenkins; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha (Tommy) Wilson and Ms. Patricia Goggins; and her dearly loved aunt, Ms. Helen Elizabeth Atwater.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her three devoted daughters, Mrs. Kathy (Willie) Thornton, Ms. Carolyn Fambro, and Ms. Lisa Collier; her loving sons, Mr. Elthman (Amie) Harden, Mr. Walter Collier, and Mr. Terell (Pamela) Harden; a loving brother, Mr. Walter (Mildred) Harden; and two sisters, Ms. JoAnn Hall and Ms. Quania Smith.
she is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren; three aunts, Ms. Barbara Brown, Ms. Essie High, and Ms. Shawn (James) Richardson; a devoted cousin, Ms. Bertha McFaddin; a dear friend, Ms. Vernell Hansford; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends.
Dorothy lived a life full of love, compassion, and resilience. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and the legacy of her kindness will continue through the generations of her family.
