Obituary For Ms. JoAnn Andrews

Ms. Joann Andrews was born on January 1, 1953, to the late Mrs. Earlene Dubigion Andrews and the late Mr. Henry James Andrews in Thomaston, Upson County. At an early age, she joined the Fellowship Baptist Church where all the family attended.

She was educated in the public school of Upson County. She attended Drake High School and later received her GED.

Joann was the mother of one daughter, Seandra. To support her family, she was employed by Loving Day Care as a Pre-school teacher. She loved working with children. After retiring from the Day Care, she found employment at the West Village Retirement Home. She soon found her second love which was taking care of Seniors. Joann enjoyed caring for children and the elderly.

She loved her family dearly and always enjoyed them coming together for celebrations and family get—togethers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Steven Andrews and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Beckham and Mrs. Earnestine Chambless . On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Lord looked down and saw his daughter in distress. He called her name. She answered and went home to eternal rest. She will be greatly missed by her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Mrs. Seandra Andrews Rumph of Stockbridge, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Dianne (Richard) Dennis, Mrs. Brenda Thompson and a cousin who was more like a sister, Ms. Beverly Hobbs all of Thomaston, GA; three brothers, Mr. Henry Andrews, Jr. and Mr. Jerome Grimsley both of Thomaston, GA and Mr. Stanley (Nakia) Grimsley of Douglasville, GA; two brothers-in-law, Mr. James Beckham and Mr. Clarence Chambless both of Thomaston, GA; one uncle, Mr. Leonard Andrews of Thomaston, GA; a devoted friend/sister Mrs. Wanda Hillman of Warner Robins, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
