Ms. Laverne Napier, more affectionately known as “Bit Sister,” was born on October 22, l960, to the late Ms. Grace Napier and the late Mr. James Davis in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia. She attended public school in the Upson County School System.
After reaching adulthood, she worked in the peach orchards and later at Thomaston Mills. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
In her leisure time, Laverne enjoyed driving, often taking her aunts wherever they needed to go. She loved watching the news, western movies, crime TV, and cooking for her family. Laverne also was an outstanding freehand artist and a great pool player with an unbeatable record. Although she was quiet, she had a love for helping others. A beautiful smile, to know her was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Napier and James and Rose Davis; companion, Chester Reeves; brothers, Billy Napier and Willie Joe Davis. On Friday, March 6, 2026, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home to be at rest.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Demetris (Lee Wilson) Napier and James Chester Reeves, Jr.; grandchildren, Jaziyah Napier and Memphis Wilson both of Thomaston, GA and Saniya Noble of Jackson, GA; great-grandchildren, Key’Oir Atwater of Thomaston, GA and Mehlani Mangham of Jackson, GA; sisters and brothers, Mrs. Juanita (Donald) Raines and Mr. Timothy (Vickie) Davis all of Thomaston, GA; aunts and uncles include, Ms. Iwilla Napier and Mrs. Bobbie Rutland both of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Margaret Archer and Mr. Edward (Pauline) Davis all of Barnesville, GA and Mrs. Earnestine Davis of Atlanta, GA; close cousins and friends, Mrs. Elaine Willis, Mary Jo Eppinger, Catina West, Lester White, Beryl Traylor, Erica Allen, Jeffery Holmes, The Akins, Reeves and Mullins families; a host of nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.
