Ms. Lawanda Ann Williams, of Thomaston, GA, passed on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024. Ms. Williams graduated from Walter F. George High School in Atlanta. After high school, she attended Georgia State University and completed her bachelor’s degree, attended Grand Canyon University for four years, and lastly Kennesaw State for two years.
She was a member of Tabernacle of Christ Encouragement Center, under the leadership of the late Pastor Dewight Winslow Mitchell. Ms. Williams was an excellent Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader.
She was formerly employed by Zoe Pediatrics and Adolescent Health. She earned her CDL license and began her own transport company.
She was survived by her mother, Ms. Mary Ann Dixon of Thomaston; seven children, Mr. Anthony Williams and Mr. Fernando Williams, both of Atlanta, Ms. Ykezia Stinson, Devin Williams, Taylor Brown, Jordan Salami, and Isabella Williams; five grandchildren; three brothers, Mr. Frederick Dixon of Columbus, Ms. Nigel Dixon of Griffin, and Mr. Antwan Dixon of Thomaston; a host of aunts and uncles; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
