Ms. Verlena Harris was born on November 30, 1960, to the late Mrs. Mary Julia McCants Harris and the late Mr. Joe Harris, Sr. in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. On September 14, 1975, she joined the Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
She was educated in public school of Upson County. She attended Upson High School and later earned her GED.
She was employed at Clearview Nursing Home for a few years before moving to Michigan in 1984. She found employment at Annapolis Hospital in the laundry department. She worked there for many years before becoming a caregiver.
She was the mother of two children; one son preceded her in death. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Alfred Daniely, Jr., one sister, Mary Jo Williams and one brother, Mr. Joe Harris, III.
On August 17, 2025, the Lord called her name, she answered, and her spirit returned to the Heavenly Father.
She is survived by one son, Mr. Al Christopher Stubbs of Inkster, MI; three grandchildren, Christopher Stubbs and Marriah Stubbs and their mother Morgan Bennett all of Inkster, MI and Ayionna Stubbs and her mother Shawnita Warren both of Ypsilanti, MI; one sister, Mrs. Earnestine Mcmullin and one brother, Minister Thaddeus Walker both of Thomaston, GA; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Earnestine Harris of Thomaston, GA; one aunt, Mrs. Mattie (Mal) Fullwood of Pontiac, MI; a special daughter, Ms. Asia McCullum of Inkster, MI; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
