Ms. Patricia Ann Reeves was born in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia to the late James D, Reeves and Katherine Reeves on November 21, 1936. She was raised by her grandmother, Mrs. Lorene Buchanan.
Her education was attained in the Thomaston Training School and graduated on May 28, 1954. Her Christian experience began at Macedonia Baptist Church where she was baptized by the late Rev. J.F. Glover. She began working in the church in all the Junior activities: Junior Usher, Junior Choir, Junior Mission, and as a Sunday School Teacher.
In June 9,1957, she relocated to Detroit,Michigan and furthered her education at Wayne County Community College with a study in Business Administration. She was later employed at F.W. Woolworth Company where she worked for twenty-six years as a Training Supervisor. After its closing, she begin working with the City of Detroit Election Committee, Downtown East City Radio Patrol and the Polly Johnson Cancer Foundation.
She joined the Burnette Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan under the Rev. J.A. Caldwell. She served as treasury of the Seniors Ushers Board, member of the Sunday School , Missionary and a member of the Fellowship District Association of Women Axillary.
She returned to Thomaston on March 19, 2006, and joined the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor William Hosley. She was active in Sunday School and the Missionary. Patricia enjoyed the preaching of the Word of God. She attended many of the churches in Thomaston and was well known. In 2001, she rejoined the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie J. Johnson, Sr.
In the community, she was actively involved in the Emancipation Committee of Upson County and the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one brother, Bennie Floyd Lamar, Jr. On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home from labor to reward.
She is survived by a devoted niece, Ms. Katrina Lamar; devoted great-niece, Ms. Triona Webb; a friend, more like a sister, Ms. Evelyn Raines and nephew, Mr. Harold Raines all of Thomaston, GA; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
