Obituary For Naomi Green Hammond

Mrs. Naomi GreeN Hammond was born on June 12, 1937, to the late Mrs. Viola Lewis Green and Mr. A.G. Green, Sr. in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She was educated in the public schools of Upson County.

During her early womanhood, she married Mr. Ford Hammond. To this union two children were born. One son, Bennett, preceded her in death. Naomi worked many years a a private duty housekeeper in the home of others.

Naomi was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved going to church and hearing the preached word of God. Often times, if she didn't have a way, she would call a cab and make her way out to Fellowship. Naomi was easy going, soft spoken and had a quiet spirit.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping at Walmart and other grocery stores, walking, reading, especially the newspaper, listening to Gospel music, watching the TV Ministries and her game shows, especially The Price Is Right.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, her husband; five sisters, Dorothy G. Trice, Annie Ruth G. Trice, Johnnie Mae Green, Ollie G. Jones and Mattie G. Childs; three brothers A.G. Green, Jr., James Green and Daniel Green. On Friday, February 16, 2024, The Lord called her nme. She answered the call and went home to be at rest.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, eith (Elaine) Hammond of Macon, GA; three grandchildren, Keonda Hammond and Keandra Washington both of Macon, GA and Terrance Anthony of Woodbury, GA; six great-grandchildren, Kaiden Brown and Jakaylin Washington both of Macon,GA, Shadava Shepherd and Quay Harris both of Thomaston, GA, A'ja Raven of Jonesboro, GA and Ry'ana Dukes of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Mr. Paul Green and Sanford Green both of Atlanta, GA and Mr. Nathaniel Green of FL; mother-in-law, Ms. Annie Anthony of Woodbury, GA; a devoted niece, Mrs. Gloria (Morris) Hollingshed of Roberta, GA; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
