Lonnie Benjamin Fletcher, son of the late Cora Pearl Fletcher and the late Milton Fletcher Sr. was born on June 26, 1956, in Barnesville, Georgia. He served his earthly assignment well and was able to retire to embark on his heavenly assignment on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 7:00 A.M.
After dating for ten years, on December 16, 1984, he married his high school sweetheart Shara Thurman and from this union two children were born. In 1974, Lonnie graduated from the Lamar County High School and immediately embarked into entrepreneurship with launching L. Fletcher Trucking & Timber. With unmatched passion for this industry, he expanded his business with his son Lonnie Dion and other workers. At an early age, Lonnie was a member of the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church then later joined the First Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia where he served as a Deacon. In 2206, he became the Pastor of the Orange Grove Baptist Church in Culloden, Georgia. Within those fifteen years, his efforts were immeasurable and contributed to the church’s spiritual and financial growth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Pearl Fletcher, father Milton Fletcher Sr, his brother, Milton Fletcher Jr., and beloved wife Shara Thurman Fletcher. Lonnie leaves a legacy of humility, commitment, and support that shall live on in the hearts of his children, Lonnie Dion Fletcher (RhoShawanda) , Tara La “Sha Fletcher(Terrance) three grandchildren, Diondria Labre Fletcher, Isaiah Fletcher, and Trinity Germany; his brother, Gregory Fletcher; nephews, Michael Fletcher and Marcus Fletcher; brother-in-law, Jimmy Thurman; sister-in-law, Jeanette Thruman and Susie Thurman; and a host of nieces, and cousins. He was the pillar of honor, strength, and commitment, who inspired his family and all those he encountered to live a God-filled life. His love for his family and God reached many generations, the young and old alike. Funeral Service were held Friday, December 31, 2021 2:00 P.M.
