Obituary For Sarah Jean Marshall

Sarah Jean Marshall was born on July 11, 1953 in Thomaston, GA to the late Willie Estelle Marshall and the late Billy Chaney.

In her early years, she lived with her aunt the Sarah Mosely and her family in Albany, GA and attended school there. Sarah grew up in Lincoln Park Community and attended R.E Lee High School. While living in Thomaston, she was employed at Thomaston Mills. She later relocated to Atlanta and began working in the food service industry. After leaving the food service industry, Sarah worked as a caregiver for the elderly and children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Estelle Marshall and Billy Chaney; siblings: Jeanette Outler, Rufus Marshall, Billy Frank Marshall, John Allen Marshall and Billy Chaney, Jr. On Friday, October 4, 2024, the Lord summoned her spirit to eternal rest. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Sarah loved to spend time with her family, attending church and eating at her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden. Sarah had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She never met a stranger. She was also devoted to serving others, even while battling her own illness. To know Sarah was to love her.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Timothy Marshall of Atlanta, GA and daughter, Iaisha Marshall of Atlanta, GA. Her grandchildren: Iaisha N. Marshall, Rolando Crawford, Jr., Timiesha Marshall and Orlando Crawford. Great grandchildren: Jamontae Marshall, Jamari Marshall, Markahla Smith, Marquez Smith and River Crawford. Her two sisters: Gaye Marshall of Atlanta, GA and Pam Pennyman of Tulsa, OK. Her uncle Willie Chaney in Thomaston, GA. A devoted childhood and lifelong sister friend, Natalie Ferguson of Atlanta, GA; devoted friend, Loretta Barnes of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
