Wanda Evet Barrett Young was born on September 26, 1969, in Beaver Falls, to the union of the late Mr. Otis James Barrett and Mrs. Estella Foster Barrett. On February 11, 2026, Wanda peacefully departed this earthly journey, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Wanda was educated in the Beaver County Public School System and attended Beaver Falls High School. She later dedicated herself to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Westbury Nursing Home, where her compassion and warm spirit touched many lives.
Wanda had a zest for life that was evident to all who knew her. She enjoyed fishing and cheering on her favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Georgia Bulldogs. She found immense joy in playing and dancing with her grandchildren and faithfully attending their school events. Wanda also had a special gift for bringing people together—she loved planning parties and events and was truly the life of the party at family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Tywon Barrett; her siblings, Wendy Sue Barrett, Jerusha Alford, Catherine Day, Victor Barrett, Willie Oscar Barrett, Cheyanne Barrett, Robert Barrett, and Manndalyne Barrett.
Wanda leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughter, Ms. Kishara Barrett of Griffin; her devoted son, Mr. Shemier Walker of Jonesboro; and her adored grandchildren: Kemorri Chambless, Ke’Mani Chambless, Koronn Smith, Kamoriah Walker, Makylah Dickerson, Ari Walker, Kamiyah Walker, Ethan Walker, and Shemiyah Walker.
She is also survived by her sisters, Ms. Doris Barrett and Ms. Alfreda Barrett Owusu; her brothers, Mr. Lewis Barrett and Mr. Angelo Barrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Wanda’s radiant smile, joyful laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.
