Mr. Willie Joe Davis, more affectionately known as “Hoot,” was born on July 10, 1961, to Mrs. Rose Alma Hogan Davis and the late Mr. James Davis in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia. His family migrated to Upson County and he attended elementary school in the Upson County School System and attended Upson High School.
After reaching adulthood, he found employment with the Upson County Government with the Road Department. He was a truck driver with the department for over sixteen years. He enjoyed his work and was a dedicated employee until his health began to fail.
Willie Joe was the father of four children and the grandfather of five. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Billy Napier. On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Lord saw his son in distress. He whispered his name to come and rest. His spirit took flight to return t the heavenly father.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Rose Davis of Thomaston, GA; four children, Ms. Jillian Leonard (Desi Reese) and Mr. O'Neal Perry both of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Jermaine (Shauntaya) Davis of Waxahachie, TX and Ms. Jasmine (Wordie III) Hubbard of St. Mary's, GA; five grandchildren, Duery “Moosi” Leonard, Jr., Ke'Khijah Perry, Keryah Perry, Jermaine Davis, and Wordie Hubbard IV; two sisters Ms. Laverne Napier of Yatesville, GA and Mrs. Juanita (Donald) Raines of Thomaston, GA; one brother, Mr. Timothy (Vickie) Davis of Thomaston, GA; the mother of Jermaine and Jasmine, Mrs. Mary Davis of Thomaston, GA; aunts and uncles include, Mrs. Pauline Moore and Mr. Karl (Julia) Hogan both og Forsyth, GA, Mrs. Sarah Tyus of Jackson, GA, Mrs. Margaret Archer and Mr. Edward Davis both of Barnesville, GA; nieces and nephews include, Teion Davis, Bria Harris, Jordan Davis, Janiaisha Searcy, Dakarriyan Searcy, Demetris Napier and Chester Reeves, Jr.; a devoted friend, Mrs. Jamie Calhoun of Thomaston, GA; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
God bless this family. I will miss my childhood friend for now.
