Obituary For Willie Lee Robinson Sparks

Mrs. Willie Lee Robinson Sparks, more affectionately known as “Deloise”, was born on August 12, 1940 to the late Mrs. Mary Robinson and the late Mr. Will Robinson in Woodbury, Meriwether County, Georgia. She was educated in the public school of Meriwether County.

When she became of working age, she found employment at Thomaston Mills. After an injury, she retired from the mill and became a hair stylist. During her womanhood, she met and married Mr. Horace Sparks. To this union, five children were born. They shared many years together until his passing. Three children also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Deloise was a member of several churches during her lifetime, but lastly with Springhill Community Baptist Church. She loved going to church and hearing the preached word.

Mrs. Deloise possessed a good and kind heart. She enjoyed taking care of children and anyone who needed her help. She enjoyed cooking and would feed anyone who was hungry. She always had enough to spare. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and taking care of the sick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three children, Benjamin Sparks, Johnny Sparks, Sr. and Debra Sparks Colbert; three grandchildren, Jessica Sparks, Travis Collier and Michelle Colbert; one great-grandchild, Kanin Robinson; her life-long friend, Mr. Hardy Richardson. On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and her spirit took flight and went home to eternal rest. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Mr. Tommy Sparks and Mr. Terry Sparks; one son-in-law, Mr. Eugene Colbert; two grandchildren she raised as her own, Mr. Chester Reviere and Ms. Kim Colbert; three adopted children, Mitavius Robinson, Atravius Mizell and Jerquavious Sparks; all of Thomaston, GA; twelve grandchildren, forty- three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grace Scott of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Mr. Jesse Robinson and Mr. James Robinson both of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
