Obituary For Ulysses N. Barkley

Mr. Ulysses N. Barkley, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life on January 24, 2023, at his residence.

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Springfield AME Church located at 4191 Union Road in Marianna, Florida 32446 where the Reverend Hollis McClendon is the pastor and Pastor Kevin Yoder officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Barkley will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Wife: Joni Barkley of Marianna, Florida

Children: Broderick Barkley, Michael Patterson, Sharea Patterson, Teddy and Anthony.

Siblings: Beverly Mosley, Roma Mosley, and Lartis Mosley, Leartha, James Thomas, Darrell (Marzella), Anetha (Rev. Felix), Charles (Elaine), Victor (Edna), Shirley and Donna (Rev. Curtis)

And a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Uncle Bee was such a joy to be around... He Always remembered everyone's birthday! He had such a kind and loving spirit. Our hearts are saddened by his departure... Aunt Joni, we love you and will Always be there for you as Uncle Bee would want us to be. May God comfort and keep All the many family members and friends as we walk through this valley. Earth has No sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.

Mrs. Barkley & Family, I am sorry to hear about the passing of my old friend Bee. I met Bee when he first moved to Michigan. He was a gentle and very kind individual. He will surely be missed. May God bless you all in your time of sorrow. His friend, Pamela Strickland Thigpen.
