Deaconess Sandra Evon Perry, wife of Deacon Michael D. Perry Sr., was born on September 25, 1951, in Sumter, SC to Evangelist Mary E. Felix and the late Lincoln Williams. She departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on Thursday July 15, 2021.
Deaconess Perry was educated in Sumter, SC Public Schools. She Graduated from Lincoln High School Class of 1969 and furthered her education by obtaining a certification to become a Keypunch Operator in New York City. Sandra later attended Webster College in Los Angeles, California where she studied to become a legal secretary. She also attended Cornell University in New York City studying Women’s Studies, and later becoming a social worker. She eventually obtained a degree from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York.
At the beginning of her spiritual journey while in Sumter, SC she attended Salem Baptist Church and served in the choir and the youth ministry. Throughout the various places she lived, she served in various capacities within ministry. After relocating to Georgia, she joined Divine Faith Ministries International (DFMI) in Jonesboro, GA. At DFMI she was a member of the choir, the usher board, Women of Faith and when her husband Michael became a Deacon, she proudly accepted the role of Deaconess. Serving as a deaconess, she took the area of preparing and serving communion very seriously.
Deaconess Sandra Perry was a woman with a very nurturing spirit which earned her the title as the neighborhood’s mom with her children’s friends. She is affectionately known as “Momma Perry”. She was always seen with a smile on her face, a sweet spirit, and a word of encouragement. She was loved by everyone she encountered. Her Motherly spirit helped those who needed her most. Whether it be a whooping of discipline, or a hug filled with love. When she was not serving in ministry, she could be found spending time with her family. She truly adored her family; her grandchildren were very special to her. She loved spending time with her husband, crocheting blankets, singing, scrolling social media, listening to music and baking anything she could think of.
Deaconess Perry, she was preceded in death by her father Lincoln Williams, and her stepfather Hubert E. Felix. She leaves to cherish her memories, her Husband of 50 years Michael D. Perry Sr. of McDonough, Georgia; her mother Evangelist Mary E. Felix of Decatur, Georgia; her children, Tamara Delph (Antwoin) of Bowie, Maryland; Michael D. My love out to the Perry Family. I remember being a kid dancing at Divine Faith, me and Mike was the only guys at the time dancing but every time we would get done she would just be filled with joy and happiness. She was just so supportive of us doing our thing. She was always so sweet and nurturing especially to our dance group. Her beautiful soul will be missed.

There was love and beauty in your words and actions. God has welcomed you with open arms. I can see your smile. You leave me with words of wisdom and a laugh in my heart at some of our conversations. Your presence with the Lord is rejoiced.
I met Mama Perry at church in Brooklyn through Tamara. She always had a smile and always welcomed me with open arms to her home. She always had that big smile 😀 and she always reached out via FB. I'm going to miss her messages. My prayers and condolences 💐 are with the whole family and friends love Mitchi
Sending you some love from the Siler/Bowman/Neal family.
Ma's love was so genuine, pure, and true! She welcome me as her daughter through my friendship with Tee for over 25 years. She further extend her love in acceptance to my family as her own and my daughter as if she was her own grandchild while I was stationed in ATL. 💔 You and Dad was my Mother and Father when they were miles away in NY. As a service member always being separated from family that meant more me and my husband while he was deployed than words can convey!
Lord this is an unbearable pain beyond measure. I never thought that our last fellowship would be at the wedding and last communication would be through your encouraging words of cheer through Facebook for me achieving another level of education and military goals. I keep reading our messages and knowing that we are never to question God.....💔
We would give one more day to make you your beloved seafood stuffing and whatever your heart desired to fellowship in your enjoyment.
My continued prayer unto God is that he covers, keeps, guides and protects our family during this difficult time in unity, love, and in strength until we all shall meet again. In Jesus Name Amen!
I love you Ma! May you forever Sip in Peace within the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! 💋💔💋 The Purdie-Hanks Family
I think I was 9 or 10 when I met Tee and instantly we clicked. I was always nervous to meet new people especially parents but when I met "ma" she made me feel like I belonged. She was kind, compassionate, hard as hell on me and always understanding. I spent as much time with her as I did my own mommy when I was younger and I am and always will be forever grateful for it!!
Sandra was my sister for over 50 years, she had more of my mother's ways than I do. She was my friend and Our family has lost a strong link and she will forever be missed❤️🥺. RIP Sis I love you💕 B. Gail Whitfield
The woman that I endearingly labeled as "Ma", had this innate ability to let all of her children's friends feel like they were her own. She was loving, tender and kind. The true essence of a woman of God. I last saw her in August of 2019, where she joyfully opened the doors of her beautiful home to my family. I left JEM's towel by her pool and she said to me, "I will save it for him until the next time you all come down here!" May God's Holy Spirit continue to comfort and keep The Perry Family. Bring to their memories all that their beloved matriarch did for them, how she loved them and how much joy she spread here on Earth.
This family is and will continue to be in our prayers and thoughts. David & Janet Fulton
