Hattie Mae Morris Davis was born on January 8, 1938 in Morgan County, Georgia to Maggie Mae Lawrence Carter and Willie Morris. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Harold Banks, James Lawrence, Thomas Lawson Banks, Walter Lee Banks, Mary Lee Banks Allen,·Robert Carter and George Carter. Her son, Paul Morris and Son-in-law, Larry Weaver also preceded her. Hattie attended The Burney Street School and Pearl High School. She accepted Christ at a young age and joined Henderson Grove Baptist Church in Eatonton, Georgia. Later she became a member of Holland Springs Baptist Church in Madison, Georgia. She met and married Henry Davis, Sr. Hattie worked for Sweet Orr and The Red Barn.

More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and sitting on her front porch. Hattie Mae loved music and was a great dancer. She was the life of the party and lit up every room she entered with that beautiful smile. She spent countless hours cooking, sewing and enjoying her grandchildren and her neighbors.

Hattie Mae's legacy will live on through the family. She leaves to rejoice that she is in her Father's house and to treasure her memory are her children: Henry Davis, Jr. (Angeline), Jennifer Morgan (Otis), Belinda Morris (Kelly), Vernester Griffin (Carl), Thomas Davis and LaTysha Weaver. She also leaves her aunt, Mary Ellen Lawrence Adams and Sister-in-law, Emma Lawrence, Sixteen Grandchildren, Ten Great-Grandchildren, Six Great-Great Grandchildren and Five Godchildren. There are a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
