Mrs. Mattie was a wonderful, loving and soft spoken woman of God. She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church where I grew up. When I moved to San Diego and would come home to visit, she would always give me the biggest hugs and would give me traveling money when I would get ready to return to San Diego. She wouldn't take no for an answer. She was the sweetest and will certainly be missed.

Mattie Williams was a very soft spoken lady with a heart of gold. She was a faithful member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Alabama City and was a member of the Women's Sunday School class and the last living member of the Ruth Rigby Circle. She would still represent the Circle in all church occasions. She was a very generous person who really loved the Lord. She will be missed. Our prayers are fervent for her family. A faithful member of the First Baptist church of Alabama City family, Ms. Matt,as she was affectionately known as,rarely missed a worship service. Her sweet spirit and soft voice will always be remembered. May she rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
