Patricia Ann Wiley-Kirksey entered this world on May 5, 1959 to Nelson and Joella Wiley as their youngest daughter. Under the leadership of Reverend H.A. Armstrong at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Greenville, MS she confessed faith in Christ. Patricia was a product of Greenville Public School District in Greenville, MS. She was a 1977 graduate of Greenville High School where she was a proud member of the Solid Gold Marching Band. She furthered her education at Jackson State University and Mississippi College. In 2000, she received her Associate’s degree in Nursing from Alcorn State University. Patricia was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Mario Kirksey, Sr. on July 4, 1985. They were married for thirty-five blissful years that was full of fun and laughter. From this union, they raised two sons; Lamario, Sr., and Tyler Kirksey. Affectionately known as “Pat”, she was chic and always presented herself with the ultimate style and grace. Although small in stature she led with a vivacious, larger than life personality that would illuminate any room she walked in. Pat was a dutiful wife and mother who loved “Mari”, “Lamari”, and Tyler “T.K.” fiercely. She supported her husband in all of his career endeavors and raised her sons with a mother’s love like no other. She was definitely the needle and thread in the fabric makings of her family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Laila and Lamario “Deuce”. She wanted the absolute best for them and would accept nothing less. As the youngest sister she loved and admired her older siblings. Education and success were her cornerstones as she not only strived to instill these qualities in her children and grandchildren, but she passed her jewels of knowledge to her nieces and nephews in high regard. Her beautiful personality shined through the colorful conversations she would have with people. Pat was hospitable and never met a stranger that did not leave as a friend. She was a great storyteller, loved to listen to music, and show off her dance moves. To know Pat, was to love Pat. Patricia loved her field of work; which was Nursing. She served as a mentor to many who entered the profession and fulfilled her destiny with purpose and passion. She was a beloved member of the Eliza Pillars Registered Nurses of MS where she once served as the President and President- Elect. In addition, she served as District 2 Membership Chair, Project Chair, and Program Chair. She was also a member of the Progressive Arts and Civic Club of Greenville, MS; where she mentored many young ladies of the community. On Friday, July, 10, 2020, Patricia transitioned from the surly bonds of this world and took her final resting place in God’s bosom. She leaves behind many cherished memories with her devoted husband of thirty-five years, Mario Kirksey, Sr. of Greenville, MS, her loving sons, LaMario (Shayla) Kirksey of Jackson, MS, Tyler Kirksey of Greenville, MS, and Mario Kirksey, Jr. of Tempe, AZ. Her grandchildren Laila and LaMario, Jr., who were her pride and joy. Her siblings; Lula (Neal) Williams of Park Forest, IL, Nelson (Debra) Wiley, Jr. of Raymond, MS, Linda (William) Johnson of Dallas, TX, Sylvester (Deborah) Wiley of Shreveport, LA, Leroy (Barbara) Wiley of Greenville, MS, and Rosa (Roosevelt) Matthews of Greenville, MS. A host of very special nieces and nephews whom she loved and treated as her own children. Brothers-in-law; Vincent (Brenda) Kirksey of Yazoo City, MS and Jason (Kimberly) Kirksey of Stillwater, OK. Throughout life she met many friends that were near and dear to her heart. To name a few, but not all; Phyllis Brooks, Barbara Caldwell, Lisa Moore, Robin Wells, Freda Braboy-Williams, and Janet Whitlow. She was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Joella Wiley, father and mother-in-law Leon and Alia B. Kirksey, and nieces Valerie Abbey and Leroice Wiley-Davis.
