Sammy Ashkar, age 53 of Bowie, TX passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, after battling cancer.
Sammy was born on January 14, 1971 in Fort Worth, TX and graduated from Eastern Hills High School. He had many occupations including bullfighter, paramedic, lineman, and his most recent as purchasing director.
Sammy was a devoted husband and father. His whole life revolved around his wife and two sons. What made him most happy was watching his sons team rope, going hunting and fishing with them or just being outdoors. He was so very proud of the fine young men they have become.
Sammy always stayed positive during his journey with cancer. He said “There Are No Losers in this battle. That journey requires patience, tolerance, and a whole lot of courage and support.” He was surrounded by many friends during the 2 ½ year journey. We will miss him dearly but know we will reunite again.
Sammy is survived by his wife, Lisa of 21 years; and his sons Kaegen and Kelby. He is also survived by his father, Nassar; mother, Diane; and brother, Rami Ashkar.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, Texas.
