Pat, Willie will always be remembered and his great talent and the way we laugh together at events. You had a great man in your life and he loved you so much.
I want to send my heartfelt condolences to the Almond family for the loss of their loved one. I looked with awe at that entire family while growing up with his younger sister and brother. He was a great listener when we spoke while working together at Fort McPherson. He was always kind to me and my family on Pate Road Whitesburg Ga. Thank you for the inspiration and support, thank you for your service to our country. God bless you and the Almond family.
It all started with a basketball and ended in the classroom of understanding. Willie graduated with honors. I was just glad to be in the same room. Look forward to talking again soon. Emanuel Reid
We are so sorry to hear of Willie's passing. His wife, Pat, and Willie were among the first to welcome us to our community after we moved in 3 years ago. They both were and are some of the best neighbors one could hope for. Willie was always so kind to us and helped make us feel appreciated and welcome. We will never forget his dear friendship. We love you Willie and know that God now has you in heaven with Him.
Dear Pat, I shall always recall the first time you and Willie entered my classroom for your Masters study at Central State University. You brought in your faces the promise of diligence and commitment. You always fulfilled that promise after your graduations. After your graduation, I was blessed to have you as wonderful friends.
Do not stand by his grave, and weep. He is not there, he does not sleep – He is the thousand winds that blow He is the diamond glitz in snow. He is the sunlight on ripened grain, He is the gentle, autumn rain. As you wake with morning's hush, He is the swift, up flinging rush of quiet birds and circling flight, He is the day transcending night. Do not stand by his grave, and cry – He is not there, He did not die.
Heart felt sympathy, Connie

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my neighbor. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace!
Willie, Pat and I started walking in our neighborhood every day for the past five plus years. We discussed various topics during our walk. I found Willie to be a very intelligent, compassionate and God fearing man. He became my brother from another mother and words cannot express how much I am going to miss him. Willie, this is sister Dorcas bidding you farewell. May our ancestors and God's angels welcome you with open arms. You fought the good fight till that necessary appointment with our almighty God. May God continue to care for Pat, Morris, Josh and all the loved ones you left behind. Rest in God's beautiful home brother till we meet to part no more.
