Bert Thomas Walker

To Avon, the Walker Family and the entire Newport Community: I am saddened that I cannot be there for Bert's Home-going service. I'm glad I got to tell him how he blessed he lives of people who never knew him through our daily 6AM Morning Glory Prayer Ministry. My last memory of Bert may very well be my best memory. I saw him play the piano and sing to the glory of God during worship at Moore's Chapel when I was in Newport for my Aunt Ann William's 90th birthday celebration in September. I am saddened to see this news about Burts passing. He was one of my supervisors at NADEP Cherry Point. His family can be proud of the man that he was. Burt went by the Golden Rule, he treated people good. He was a good man and a good supervisor. I enjoyed working for him. I know that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this very difficult time.
